I really can't stand Boston College. As a Domer, we have our share of rivals, but Boston College is that one school that really just gets to me. I can't stand anything related to Michigan and don't like USC - but at least I can find a measure of respect for their programs. Boston College on the other hand...only knows one thing about greatness - and that's when they ruin the greatness of others. Here are a few reasons I hate BC:
- Backup College Superfan shirts worn by ND students are infinitely better than the BC "Rudy Sucks" shirts worn by BC students. Obviously Rudy sucks, otherwise it wouldn't be a very good movie, figure it out;
- That was not a kick in the National Championship last year, and anyone that tries to argue it was deserves the ignominy of holding a degree from BC. You win the game and yet still try to argue...
- You're not in Boston, you're not a college. Why don't you call yourself what you actually are, "Chestnut Hill University";
- The "little brother, please pay attention to me" mentality. Look, just because you beat us a few times in football doesn't mean you will ever be as good as Notre Dame;
- Your greatest moments in football history are spoiling the efforts of others, that's their pride. Here are two well known examples: 1)1984 - come from behind win against Miami led by Doug Flutie. Miami was the incumbent national champion and BC knocked them off. 2) I think this picture is enough said, I don't really want to get into further details.
I was going to make this a top 10 list, and I'm sure I could get there - however I really don't want to get worked up to that point right before I get on the plane. Go Irish, let's hope for a clean sweep this weekend.

As a non-Domer on this blog, I'll play devil's advocate.
What about BC's legacy in college hockey? ND's greatest moment on the ice was reaching last year's championship game with a victory over defending champs Michigan State and a thrilling semifinal winner over Michigan in OT. But they were soundly defeated by BC in the title game, giving the Eagles a third championship.
An addendum: hasn't BC won five straight against ND in football?
BC has won like two national titles in hockey despite claiming 21 Frozen Fours. Ten of those Frozen Fours came when the NCAA Tournament had four teams.
So, 11 Frozen Fours, two national titles. Not a good ratio
If you've seen ND's rink, you'll realize what an uphill battle Jackson is going against.
Also, ND hockey has been at the Division I level for 40 years... with the same freaking rink
And that gay bowl streak of eight games? ZERO of those wins have come in January
Forty years in D-I with the same rink? Where is the vast ND alumni backing for the hockey team?
I blame Duve
Blame Duve...I can go with that.
(Ouch on the game. Six straight. Claussen: not so good. But a great game on the rink.)
I'll take the wins for hockey this weekend. Maybe I can sell my ND/Navy tickets too
