New Rankings

Now I know that Alabama is ranked #2 in our Poll, but for discussion sake WHY are they ranked above LSU. More importantly why did the pollsters rank them above LSU? Now I understand the argument can be made that they jumped ahead of Mizzou due the fact they didn't play last week, but LSU had a pretty good victory over a tough team in Miss. St. This is more a knock on UGA, but after scraping by to beat South Carolina in Week 2, I don't think beating UGA really catapults you to a #2 position. In other news, it's great to see USC and "hollywood" Pete Carroll lose. Thoughts?

Joining the Blog

Great idea on the blog - this will be a lot of fun. Now, after we get a few quality posts, we should work on getting ESPN to link to it. That would be hott.

Welcome to BD Sports Talk

After some initial success through last year and this year putting together our version of a college football poll, Matt and I decided that we wanted to expand our sports focus a bit and start a blog. Granted the major credentials for the nine voters of the BD Top 25 involve the ability to have a few drinks and watch multiple games of football at a time for days straight (Thursday-Monday and sometimes a Tuesday if you like the MAC), but I think that's more than enough to have an intelligent discussion about sports.

Let's think about it, if you're reading this right now it's probably because 1) you know us and 2) you like sports. You also can either sit there everyday and have ESPN tell you what you should think about Ed Hochuli's blown calls, another epic collapse by the Mets or how Ovechkin is better than Sidney Crosby...

...or you can write what you think here and then talk about it with other people that share your passion for sports.  I hope that you will be willing to read what others have to say, add to the discussion and follow our weekly college football poll.
