Weekend Picks: November 6 - November 9

It’s a new week and I'm determined to get better. I am not touching ND-BC with a ten foot pole. That game is going to be stressful enough.

Five games and a parlay:

- Boise State -34.5 vs. Utah State - The Wager is 20 to win 18.18.
Editorial Note: This is a huge number (even up 3 pts from the opening line), but I'm betting the blue turf until the well runs dry.

- Texas -27 vs. Baylor - The Wager is 20 to win 18.18.
Editorial Note: UT bounces back and blows out Baylor.

- Missouri -27 vs. Kansas Sate - The Wager is 20 to win 18.18.
Editorial Note: KSU has a lame-duck head coach and allowed Kansas to stomp them last week. To quote Bill Murray from Space Jam, "Defense? I don't play defense."

- UVA +3.5 at Wake Forest - The Wager is 20 to win 18.18.
Editorial Note: Groh's boys are playing great football recently, while Wake Forest has not looked good since their big win versus FSU. By the way, the over/under on this game is 39!

- ASU -14.5 at Washington - The Wager is 20 to win 18.18.
Editorial Note: Speaking of lame-duck coaches, Washington cannot score and cannot play defense.

- Fun Pick of the Week - 5 Game Parlay ($5)
Minnesota -7.5 vs. Michigan
WVU -7 vs. Cincinnati
BYU -36.5 vs. San Diego St.
Kansas +1 at Nebraska
Washington St. +41 vs. Arizona

I hear you - BC/ND drives me nuts. Doesn't help the hockey game is Friday night too.

National Title Game Rematch?

We always seem to upset them in hockey the night before they upset us in footabll.

I've got news for your parlay - Wash St will not score a point, while everyone on this site could drop 45 on them.

Also, watch out for Baylor. They've played everyone tough, and I'd guess they are above .500 ATS.

Also, regarding your ND-BC comment, you should never, ever bet on your own team unless you are supremely confident that the line is very wrong.

For instance, one of the only times I've ever bet on ND was when we played Penn St in 2006. The line at the MGM was something like ND -3, and it was very clear that we were going to destroy them. I parlayed that with over 42.5, or something low like that, and came out way good.

If everyone wants me to participate, then I will need someone to look up the amounts to win

I'll have them up probably on Friday

I am concerned about Baylor, but I like Texas to bounce back. Mack Brown's Texas teams have a penchant for covering huge spreads.

I've bet on ND 4x in the last 3 years - 2 weeks ago vs. Washington (W), Sugar Bowl LSU (L), 06 vs SC (L) and 06 vs AFA (W). I've been very gun-shy with them as we were terrible ATS in both 06 and 07 after being great ATS in 05.

WSU is terrible, but at some point the spread is going to be high enough when they will cover. I think that week may be now.

Yeah National Title rematch, we'll see what happens. This past spring was the first time BC hockey has beaten us in years (too bad that one counted for the most). It's hard to get a line on our hockey team this year, we should be better than last year but losing at Denver and getting swept at home by Miami doesn't make much of a statement.

I'll be surprised with BYU too, I keep picking them with the spread in a pick'em league every week and seem to lose every week. At least BYU is playing at home.

On a side note, is it just me or is the Utah/ TCU game getting pretty much no play? I don't care if it's not a BCS conference, winner of that game will go to a BCS game and win their conference - it should get more attention.

I don't think BC winning the football game this year would be an upset.

BC is favored, but that is only due to home field advantage. Vegas would have it a pick game at a neutral site.

Also, I think ND is a little better in the Sagarin ratings.

Does anyone remember the rumor that this game was potentially going to be moved to Labor Day Weekend in Foxboro? Weis alluded to it in a press conference early in the season.
