New Rankings

Now I know that Alabama is ranked #2 in our Poll, but for discussion sake WHY are they ranked above LSU. More importantly why did the pollsters rank them above LSU? Now I understand the argument can be made that they jumped ahead of Mizzou due the fact they didn't play last week, but LSU had a pretty good victory over a tough team in Miss. St. This is more a knock on UGA, but after scraping by to beat South Carolina in Week 2, I don't think beating UGA really catapults you to a #2 position. In other news, it's great to see USC and "hollywood" Pete Carroll lose. Thoughts?

I think it's kind of a toss up between Alabama and LSU right now in my mind, they both have had some tight wins but I think the Georgia team that Alabama beat on the road is better than the Auburn team LSU beat on the road. An additional note might be, maybe people are a little bored with LSU, just like Ohio State and maybe even USC right now? Alabama is hot right now and people love a bandwagon on the upswing.

I am glad to see USC drop, and hopefully they'll be out of the hunt. I still think we should all watch out for Penn State right now. If they can get through a couple of tough road games (at Wisco, at OSU) sandwiched around a home visit from Michigan - they will probably be able to sneak into the national title picture later in the year while the SEC and Big XII continue their conference schedule attrition.
